Alexander Mohr, the new IFRA President, aims to strengthen global engagement with authorities and expand IFRA’s membership base. Key priorities include defending fragrance ingredients to support perfumers’ innovation, implementing the new IFRA strategic plan developed in 2024, and advancing sustainability initiatives within the industry.
The President also plans to review internal structures to ensure IFRA remains future-ready. With a strong team and robust foundations, he looks forward to collaborating with stakeholders, members, the board, and the Secretariat to achieve these goals.
Paul Andersson, IFRA’s new Chairman as of November 2024, emphasizes building on IFRA’s more than 50 years of promoting the safe use of fragrance raw materials while adapting to evolving trends. His strategy focuses on inclusivity by expanding IFRA’s global reach, especially in emerging markets, and deepening collaboration with national associations.
Key priorities include addressing consumer demand for sustainable and natural solutions and integrating technology, such as artificial intelligence, into IFRA’s approach to better serve the fragrance industry, the planet, and consumers.

The IFRA Standards are at the heart of the fragrance industry's product stewardship program ensuring fragrance ingredient safety in consumer products.
Obligatory for IFRA members, these Standards - and the IFRA Code of Practice - are based on scientific safety assessments prepared by RIFM.

The IFRA Communications department helps support the outreach and advocacy work of the association, creating materials, organising events and engaging with IFRA's various stakeholders.
